Ministry Opportunities:
The opportunities that are listed on this site represent existing needs. If you are interested in volunteering for any position listed below, please fill-out the form and then press the 'Submit Request' button. Someone will then contact you regarding that position.
Bulletin Board Organizer - Decorate one bulletin board changing it monthly promoting one major event in the month.
Wednesday Night Meal Clean up - The person best suited for this need is a male or a female who can carry the trash from the kitchen and Fellowship Hall to the trash dumpster out by the storage barn. This person would need to be able to give about one to two hours per week on Wednesday night from about 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
Resource Room Coordinator - This person would be responsible for keeping the Resource Room neat and tidy. They would also need to keep track of what resources are in the room and where in the room they are. They would also need to keep track of needed resources letting the Ed/Admin Associate know of any needs. This position will require about one hour per week but could take more depending upon the initiative of the person.
Choir Members - Both men and women are needed. Your commitment is to a practice on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to about 7:30 pm. The choir also performs two special musicals a year: one at Christmas and one at Easter. Special practices and Saturday retreats are scheduled for these musicals.
Children's Ministry Coordinator - Give leadership to the Children's ministry of our church. Plan and schedule events. Design and conduct a new Christians class. Coordinate with the Family Associate for family devotionals, coordinate missions programs and activities and give leadership to summer camps.
Design PowerPoint announcement slides for the worship service and youth ministry.
Extended Session - for preschoolers during the worship services. Offer your service for just one Sunday a month. This is a great way for parents of teens and empty nesters to offer a ministry to the parents of preschoolers.
Adult Sunday School Class Teacher - We have a Sunday School class of homebound adults who need a teacher. This teacher would teach a lesson from the church office via skype teleconferencing. If you would like to find out more about this class, contact Jim Funck.
50+ Ministry Leader - This person does not have to be over 50 years of age but be willing work with the Minister of Education/Administration to plan and conduct a ministry to the adults of our church who are over 50 years of age. This will include the coordination of bi-monthly fellowships and bi-monthly travel activities.
Bus Ministry Driver and Assistant - Primary responsibility will be to pick up and return people from their homes on Sunday mornings for Sunday School and Worship. This will be for those who are unable to drive.
Preschool Sunday School Teachers - It is anticipated that by June of 2012 our Sunday School Preschool Division will be in need of at least one new teaching unit, probably in the Bed Baby age group. There will be a need for two teachers to give leadership to this new unit. Responsibilities will focus on the Sunday morning care and teaching of the bed babies and the weekday contacts with parents.
Drummer - Someone is needed to add drums to our Sunday morning music. Responsibilities include an early morning rehersal prior to the Sunday School hour. The church will provide the drums. The drum set is a Pintech electronic set with five drums and two cymbals.
Fellowship Team - 3-4 people to plan and implement four church-wide fellowships each year for the development and maintenance of "family" in our church. This team will also organize and implement the following annual fellowships: 4th of July and Thanksgiving.
Women's Ministry Director - The Women's Ministry will reach out to all the women of the church, from the youngest to the most elderly. The ministry will encourage spiritual growth, friendship, support in times of need, involvement in missions, and equip women to serve others in the congregation.
Children's Choir Director - Direct and lead the children's choir. The children's choir currently meets in the choir room on Wednesdays starting between 5:30 and 5:45 pm and meets until about 6:20 pm. The children's choir works on music for Christmas and also for VBS and any other special occasions that they want to be involved in.
Sound/Media Team - This is a new team and we are looking for four to six people who would like to learn how to run the sound system and the media programs used for Sundays. Once the team is formed people will be placed on a Sunday morning rotation serving about once a month.
Handbell Choir - This choir is in need of five more ringers who love music. It is not a requirement that you can read music, but it will help. This choir performs once a quarter in the Sunday morning services. Ringers must be able to meet for a once a month practice immediately after the morning worship from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The practice begins with a pot luck lunch.
Piano Player for Retirement Center Ministry - Someone is needed on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to about 10:30 am to play the piano for the services that are conducted at the Legends Retirement Center on May Ave south of the church.
Fall Festival / Children's Night In Coordinator - This person will coordinate the church's alternative to Holloween: determining the activity booths to be offered and enlisting the people to run them; coordinate all publicity, both in and outside of the church; determine the best way to register all participants obtaining contact and age information. This is all conducted under the support of the church's Children's Ministry Coordinator.
